So as many know, when I have a new release on the horizon I raise money for a different charity. Last year raised a fantastic amount for Dementia Uk and I have decided for this new release I will continue to raise what I can for this great cause.

Over the last 14 years I cared for my Nanna. She was more than my Nanna, she was a mum to me, a best friend, a council, my rock. After 14 years of caring for her I lost her in July to this awful disease. I watched her deteriorate, every day it stole a little piece of her away from me and although I would do it all over again in a heartbeat, more support was needed through those years for both her, and me. When she passed there was no support network in terms of how to deal with such a great loss and it is my aim to make that happen for anybody else who is going through this devasting ordeal. They are still in there somewhere, I told myself this everyday and with the right care and support it can be (even just a little) more bearable on days when everything seems dark.

Dementia UK is a specialist nursing charity that is there for the whole family, that aim to work towards a day where nobody has to face Dementia alone. They provide life-changing advice and support and I wish I had known about this during my time of caring for such an amazing, brave and beautiful person.
