On Sep 21st my husband and I got married. The morning of Sep 30th I was watching cartoons with my son in the living room. By 2 o’clock that afternoon our living room was in flames. We were both napping in our beds. I heard a loud “pop” noise from below me that didn’t sound right. (I found out it was our windows exploding) While still in bed, I checked our ring camera and to my surprise, our front porch was on fire. I jumped out of bed, grabbed Benjamin (our 2 year old) from his. Put him to my chest, covered his face, raced down stairs through thick black smoke and luckily the front door blew open just in time and I bolted outside. Leaving all of our animals and everything inside. Including my cell phone. A bystander saw Ben and I and pulled us into her car and was able to call my husband for me.

The zanesville Fire Department was hosting a training day just down the street, saw the smoke and quickly came over and put out the fire. I kept yelling and asking if they found a dog (Loki. My 12 year old dachshund)

what wasn’t damaged in the fire was destroyed from the smoke. We lost everything. Nothing could be salvaged. Our clothes, personal possessions, food, toys, books, purses, under garments - even our cat didn’t make it.
