My name is Navouny

This year, what I really need for my birthday is support in starting the next chapter of my life.

I am turning 24 the day of posting this. I’m a Black and Indigenous Trans woman graduating this June with a bachelor’s degree in Counternarratives and a minor in Education & Social Justice. I’ve lived in the Pacific Northwest my whole life, but over the years it has become clear that it’s no longer the place where I can thrive or feel safe.

I’ve faced consistent barriers such as racism, transphobia, misogyny, and discrimination toward my neurodiversity. I’ve struggled immensely with finding a job, and even have been turned away the next day after someone “higher up” sees my profile. I’ve relied heavily on drag, savings, and school refunds to survive while managing food, travel, health expenses, and investing in my art.

I’m at a point where I need a full restart.

My goal is to raise $4,500 to support:

safe and stable housing

food and transportation

job-hunting expenses

a small emergency buffer for medication and health needs

I will be moving out of the PNW this summer, to a place where I have thought long and hard about. This place I know I can grow and thrive in. As well, I have found new community, support of my artistry, and a higher presence of fellow BiPOC and queer people.

This move is essential for my mental health, safety, and long-term stability. Anything you donate helps me take this next step with dignity and hope.
