We were able to launch the app around fall of 2019, thanks in large part to all the contributions we received through GoFundMe. You can download the app on iTunes here: http://bit.ly/mrcheckpointiphoneapp and on Google Play here: http://bit.ly/mrcheckpointandroidapp
We are now looking for some donations to help us add more features to the app and fine tune it. We already have a list of tweaks and features we would like to get implemented as soon as there is a bit of additional support. We are extremely grateful for all the help we have received and look forward to what's next.
Mrcheckpoint is a movement that has been a force of good, creating safer communities since 2011 by sharing knowledge and being an advocate for transparency and accountability with law enforcement. Last year, we had over 64 million impressions from over 700,000 people that followed, liked, subscribed, or downloaded the original Mr. Checkpoint app.
It’s time we take it to the next level and with your help, we can do just that. The new app will allow people nationwide to report and confirm police alerts such as checkpoints, speed traps, immigration, and more. The app will allow you to upload pictures and media of interactions with officers, both good and bad that will be shared and rated 1-5 stars by the public (yelp for police). You’ll be able to learn and read about local laws, constitutional rights, and get connected to trusted and affordable services such as attorneys and insurance providers.
It’s hard to comprehend "the land of the free" has more people locked up behind bars than the 2 largest countries in the world, COMBINED! Many of which are innocent and wrongfully accused because of a lack of evidence and transparency. The MrCheckpoint community has been praised by celebrities, non-profit organizations, and even the police for encouraging responsibility and ultimately saving lives. From helping locate missing children to exposing and holding bad cops accountable, and encouraging the people across the country to Always Film The Police, a difference is being made. With the launch of this new app it will be a tool that will continue to make communities safer, forever.
It has been an absolute privilege to dedicate my life to serving others through this platform and continue growing this exceptional and diverse community that is truly for the people, by the people.
If you can afford to contribute, I want you to know that 100% of the funds raised through GoFundMe are going directly towards the further development and fine tuning of the app. We will also be creating a fund that goes to help people who may not be able to afford an attorney or need an extra hand, paying it forward one way or another.
