Nationwide Building Society champions volunteering and other charity support for both local communities and charitable organisations.

One of the fantastic benefits of working for Nationwide are the opportunities they provide their colleagues with when it comes to volunteering and supporting others

With a commitment from 21 colleagues, our aim is to raise awareness and collect donations for the DePaul charity. DePaul is a housing charity focused on helping young people and families who are currently facing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless

You can check out the amazing work they do here:

Our advisers will be splitting into 2 teams

The first team will be based within, both, the Nationwide Manchester branch, and the surrounding highstreets, helping to raise awareness for the charity & collect donations. We will be providing fun games, activities, snacks, and drinks all in exchange for however much time you can give us to let you know what fantastic work DePaul do. If you also feel like donating to the charity you can do that there too.

The second team will be completing a sponsored weighted walk event.

The weighted walk is an event championed by DePaul and it symbolises the struggles a young adult can face carrying their belongings when faced with being homeless.

We will be completing a 12-mile route, with a 5-mile break off for those who can't make the full distance, stopping off at popular attractions around Manchester, posing for pictures and documenting our journey, we will also be stopping off at the local DePaul housing centres to drop of donations of clothing, food, drinks, and anything we have rounded up.

If you can, please donate to our cause as DePaul really do make a difference to people's lives
