Help disabled legal professionals create community

The National Disabled Legal Professionals Association (NDLPA) is a national association of disabled lawyers, judges, policy experts, legislators, academics, and other legal workers, professionals, and organizers. NDPLA was founded in 2022 to organize and unify disabled legal professionals into a force for change, and to advocate for and empower disabled legal professionals. NDLPA strives to promote professional growth and opportunity for disabled attorneys and legal professionals; provide community service; improve access and inclusion in the profession; and ensure access to justice for all.

NDLPA is working toward incorporating as an organization, which is accompanied by some costs, including, but not limited to:

1. A registered agent (About $150/year)
2. General liability/Directors and officers insurance (About $1,000/year)
3. Various filing fees ($80 for DC filing, $275 for IRS filing)
4. Setting up an accessible website
5. CART, ASL interpretation, and other services to ensure meetings are accessible and inclusive
6. Email accounts and ways of maintaining communication between leadership

Several organizers have paid out of pocket for costs. However, as disabled legal professionals ourselves, we cannot do this alone. We appreciate your support.

Do note that because we are not yet incorporated and are not yet a 501(c)(3), this may not be tax deductible. This will be provided to the leaders to directly cover costs. We will look into whether we can make contributions retroactively tax deductible, though we cannot make guarantees.
