Our family is facing one of the most difficult times we’ve ever known. My brother Nathan, a kind, loving, and resilient soul, has been struck by a devastating illness — Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS). This rare, aggressive disease nearly took his life, and now we are fighting to give him every possible chance to recover.
Nathan’s ordeal began after battling severe gastro and a powerful flu that weakened his immune system. Suddenly, he was hit with symptoms resembling a stroke: speech impediments, numbness from his knees down, blurred and double vision, partial loss of sight, and paralysis of his arms, legs, and fingers. His body essentially shut down, and he was rushed to the hospital.
On April 14, 2025, after careful consultations with multiple doctors at Gold Coast University Hospital, Nathan was put into an induced coma to protect his airway and stabilize his condition. The doctors explained the risks, but we knew we had to do everything possible to save him.
Nathan is more than his diagnosis. Anyone who knows him understands how tough, kind, and full of life he is. He’s the guy who would give the shirt off his back for anyone, always ready to stand up for his friends and family. Losing him or seeing him like this has shattered us all. As his identical twin, our bond is unbreakable — sharing life’s greatest moments together, and now sharing the pain of seeing him struggle.
This fight is far from over, but I believe with all my heart that Nathan will overcome this. His strength, resilience, and fighting spirit are incredible. We’re doing everything we can, but we need your help to give him the best chance possible — with advanced treatments and rehabilitation.
We are asking for any support you can provide — no amount is too small. Your generosity will help us access the best resources and care to help Nathan recover and regain his strength.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, prayers, and support during this unimaginable time. Nathan is a fighter, and with your help, we believe he will come out of this stronger than ever.
Let’s stand together and help Nathan win this battle.
With gratitude and hope,
Nick
