Hello, My name is Jannessa and I am making this page for my 14 year old sister Natalyah Sanchez. On December 16, 2022 my mom, Maria Marquez took her in for a routine doctors appointment that included lab work and as soon as they got home the doctors office was calling them to take her to the ER as soon as possible. Once there, they did a lot more blood work, within a few hours our world was turned upside down when the doctor confirmed to my mom that my sister has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. They transferred her that same night to kaiser in Los Angeles where she got her PICC line placed and she started chemotherapy the next day. She was in the hospital for one week and she was discharged on Christmas Eve, which was such a blessing that she could spend it at home with her loved ones. This has been devastating for us all. My mom Maria had to stop working and her main focus now is taking care of her little girl.
My sister Natalyah is such a shy, caring but super funny and sweet girl. She is currently an 8th grader at Grow Academy in Shafter and she is looking forward to her promotion to high school later this year. Natalyah enjoys painting, listening to music and taking random road trips with her family especially camping. Her dream is to become a special needs teacher when she grows up. We know she will be a great teacher!
My sisters treatment is expected to last a few years long and my mom will not be able to work since her main focus will be to get my sister healthy again. If you find it in your heart and are able to, any donations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read and share Natalyah’s story. Please keep my sister and our family in your thoughts and prayers. Much love and blessings to you all.
