Natalie's Journey To Peace...

Hi, my name is Gina Canchola. I’ve decided to create this go fund me for my mom Natalie Norton to make sure she’s taking care of when she begins her journey.

Over the next few months, my mom is preparing to start over by ridding all of her belongings including her car and selling our house in order to buy a campervan for her and our dog Claire.

Over the past year and a half she has been battling with trauma induced PTSD, depression, and anxiety.

In September 2022, on Ann Marie Lane in Oak Forest, Illinois there was a tragic event that took place across the street from our house. Unfortunately, my mom witnessed and interacted with the man that had just murdered his family, then himself. In the moment she heard the gunshots from inside our house, she sprinted outside towards the house to help with the situation when she was stopped by the man with the gun, still in his hand. My mom was the last person he spoke to before the police arrived, and when they did, they demanded her to go back inside her house. Later that day, police detectives came to our house to get her statement about what had taken place from her perspective.

This event, unfortunately compiled with the passing of our cousin, 9 days prior. My mom being family, entered the home and upon entering saw our cousin’s severely decomposed body by accident.

These situations have truly been hard to watch my mom go through and deal with. All I want is to see my mom get back to being herself. She has talked about going Vanlife for years and her time for that has come.
