Natalie and Naomi

Hi , I am starting this gofundme page for my two young nieces, who just lost their beloved father after battling almost 2 years of sickness and on a verge of losing their home. Andre their father was a family man first but always found time to help others in need. He was everything to the two girls and a good friend to so many. Natalie (14) and Naomi (11) were always daddy's girls since the beginning. Andre and Silvie, their parents, always taught them to be polite and respectful to others and loving siblings to each other. They are honor students in school and always helping at home, especially after their father got sick. Andre, their beloved father, suffered a stroke just before Christmas in 2020, which affected all of the family greatly. They girls spent Christmas in the hospital with their father, even bringing him his Christmas gift to cheer him up at his bedside.

After spending months in the hospital, Andre finally came home, and the girls were very excited and happy to get their "Dada" back. The next few months were all about physical therapy and doctor visits. Many times, Andre was frustrated and feeling helpless but the girls pushed him forward. The stroke left him partially paralyzed on his left side but the girls were next to him, cheering him on and didn’t let him give up. Things were looking up when unfortunately, Andre suffered another major setback. After complaining for weeks about headaches, a CT scan showed he had a 9 cm tumor in his brain. After a life-saving surgery, surgeons were able to remove 90% of the tumor, but the other 10% was just too close to the optic nerve.

The next 10 months involved radiation and chemotherapy, but the girls were with him all the way to give him the energy to push through the pain and sickness and the hope for the complete healing. After months of therapy, things were looking up and the future looked bright. However, a few days after finishing chemotherapy, Andre tested positive for COVID that made him even weaker. After battling with the sickness for a week in the hospital, he wasn't getting any better and they did another CT scan to check his head. The scan showed a devastating picture. The brain cancer had come back and the family was told that Andre had only a couple of weeks left to live. The family was absolutely devastated receiving the news, but Natalie and Naomi still hoped for a miracle and didn’t give up on their “Dada.” After going through so much and being by his side for almost two years, they were even more determined to get him through this.

After his release from the hospital the girls stayed by his side day and night. The next couple of weeks were extremely difficult for them seeing their father’s health getting worst each day. Even when he was unable to communicate with them anymore after suffering multiple seizures, they wanted to spend every minute with him by his side. When the hospice asked to take him to there facility, the girls said absolutely said NO, they wanted their father home so that they could care for him till the very end, which they did. They read books to him, told him stories about what happened that day, brushed his hair and comforted him by telling him things like things will get better and he has to be strong and fight. By this time, he was receiving morphine every two hours but the girls kept spending every minute with him and encouraged him to fight so he can be their when they graduate school or one day when they get married , so he can walk them down the aisle.

These two young girls suffered a great deal of pain and sadness. Losing their father at such a young age will affect them for the rest of their lives. That’s why I’m reaching out , so that even with such a tremendous loss, they still have a chance of a bright future, where they can fulfill their dreams and don’t have to worry about losing their home after they just lost there beloved father.
