Hi! My name is Roxanne. I am raising funds for my brother Darius and his girlfriend Natalie. They were excitedly awaiting the birth of their first child, a son, Milo Joon Fort, due November 1.

Natalie was taken to the hospital on Aug 31, 2022, with contractions and labor pains. After the initial check-up, Natalie was rushed into an emergency cesarean, and baby Milo was brought into this world ten weeks early. Milo's abdomen was swollen, and doctors realized he would need immediate surgery. They placed him on a ventilator to prepare him to be flown via Life Flight to Primary Children's hospital. Surgeons did everything possible to find the cause of the swelling and determined that Milo's liver was filling with blood, and they did not know why. That evening just before 10 pm, Darius was taken into a hospital room to say goodbye to his son and held him as he took his final breath. Because Natalie was still at the hospital where she had given birth, the staff at both hospitals were trying to coordinate transportation so she could also say goodbye. They were finally able to get Darius and Milo an ambulance ride around midnight to the hospital Natalie was at. The couple spent the next few hours with their baby.
