Nashville Mask4Mask Provide Free COVID-19 Tests!

Nashville Mask4Mask is a community-led mask bloc that aims to distribute high-quality masks and COVID tests for free around Nashville. Since 2023, we have distributed free masks and rapid tests to community members and established 9 public mask dispensers. Our goal to reduce the harm of the ongoing pandemic through community education and resource distribution has become more difficult given the full-blown eugenics of the current administration, and we need our community’s help to continue.

We are now nearing five years since the beginning of the pandemic and COVID has not gone away. What has gone away is (any) material support from the federal government to acquire masks that prevent transmission of infections like COVID, flu, cold, and measles as well as at-home rapid COVID antigen tests. Many of us have been affected by Long COVID or know someone who has, or has passed away due to complications from COVID. Measures like masking, testing, improving air filtration, and having social gatherings outside can and do prevent transmission of COVID.

This fundraiser will go directly to purchasing one year’s supply of at-home rapid COVID antigen tests from iHealth. We distribute approximately 100 tests per month through distribution centers and direct requests. Buying tests in bulk reduces costs to $2 per test and factoring in shipping and taxes, this expense comes to $2,750 for 1,200 COVID tests. Any additional funds will be used to purchase more tests!

Nashville Mask4Mask has largely been funded by its members and small one-time donations by our community. We are hoping our community can support us so that we can support everyone else in preventing unmitigated transmission of COVID-19.
