A Small Town Team with Big Dreams:
Napa Soccer Team Earns a Spot in Nationals

The Napa United 1839 Academy U14 Boys team dug deep in 100 degree weather to win every game and take US Club Soccer’s West Regional Tournament. Now they will advance to the XVIII National Cup Finals held July 20-24th at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado - where they will compete against only 5 other Regional winners for the title of the best team in the country.

Travel to national competitions is costly. Participating in tournaments such as this one helps these boys on their life path to success - from college to professional play and beyond. We want to make sure every boy has the opportunity to take part in this life-changing experience.

These teenage boys will need LOTS of food and preferably a hotel with laundry facilities. Yet we only have a couple of weeks to raise funds.

More about the team:  This team is not even 1 year old and has made great strides in a short amount of time. They qualified for and participated in NPL 1. Now they have earned a place in Nationals. Many of the boys have trained and competed internationally and are in NorCal PDP’s State Pool. One of the team’s forwards, Seba Carbajal, was called up to the iD2 National Selection Team and competed with them in Belgium and France.

Their coach: Academy Director Gavin Taylor, was brought on to take the Napa United 1839 Academy Program to the next level and in less than a year has had two teams win the prestigious West Regional Tournament. Gavin holds his UEFA A Youth License. He spent over 8 years at Fulham FC Academy outside of London where he won back to back U18 EPL Championships and the U19 Dallas Cup. He has developed over 50 players who are now playing professional soccer around Europe & the USA.

Napa Youth Soccer League Inc is a Non Profit 501c3 dedicated to providing the youth of the community an opportunity to play soccer.
