Naomi's Breast Cancer Journey and those supporting her.

Want to join me in making a difference?
I'm shaving my hair at the END OF OCTOBER and we're raising money to benefit LITTLE HAVEN COOLOOLA SUNSHINE CST PALLIATIVE CARE ASSN INC, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to myself and my beautiful friend Naomi.

We are both 42 and have been best friends since our families started playing soccer at the same club when we were both under 1 .

Naomi's Journey with Breast Cancer began when earlier this year she recognised a lump in her breast which then led her to seek advice and now we have noticed how much this fantastic community group has been present in her Chemo routine and how many woman we've spoken to that are too scared to check or don't have enough information/ awareness to do what's best for them to get onto any abnormalities earlier and know there is plenty of support on the breast cancer journey.

Here's a few word from Naomi on her journey so far....

I am choosing to share my story with you all because I am on a new journey for life.
Unfortunately my breast cancer is not curable, however is highly treatable for the rest of my life.
I found a lump, got it checked and hear we are.... it had already spread with no other symptoms. So who knows how long that lump had been there for before it could be felt.
This has been a massive shock to our whole family and realise this can happen to anyone.
I only have 3 weeks left of a 12 week stint of Chemo. I will however be staying on the Immunotherpy drug and the HER2 targeted drug every 3 weeks for the rest of my life. I will continue to have several appointments including scans every 3 months and what ever else that needs to be done . If there is any changes to my cancer, my treatment will change.
I am one very lucky woman and have been blessed with 3 beautiful children, a wonderful partner and such loving friends.

I have been very lucky to have the support of Little haven who volunteer their time coming in on my treatment days providing such a wonderful service to me with some yummy food, blankets and hand made bits and pieces with a good chat to make my day that little bit more at easier.
Everyone from little haven volunteers their time to 24/7 round the clock supporting every person with Cancer and their families right from when they start treatment to palliative care. This is only able to be done with our kind donations from our community.

More information about LITTLE HAVEN COOLOOLA SUNSHINE CST PALLIATIVE CARE ASSN INC: Little Haven is a not for profit NGO providing 24 hour on call nursing care and support to the terminally ill and their family, specialised equipment loan, and bereavement support at no cost to the patient. This support provided to 214 palliative patients last year, allows them the dignity, care, comfort and confidence to remain in the place of their choosing. Our service also provides chemotherapy and cancer support to many additional patients in this area. With limited Government funding Little Haven needs to raise over $400,000 per year and all community support is a great bonus in helping us in our mission providing dignified end of life care and support to all in our community during their darkest hours.
