My name is Marisa Perilli Soto and I am Nancy and Nelson's daughter-in-law. This lovely kind elderly couple came here for a chance to live, earn and grow. Supporting all their kids in this house and now grandchildren in Bucks County, PA. Nancy and Nelson need our help, as I have tried to do so much alone and they will drain you. Working tirelessly these past 50yrs, day and night. Their language barrier between spanish & english was never used for pity as they still earned a living at Trane, Switlik parachute company and S&B cleaning all night FT. They stayed with 2 FT jobs each well into 65 years old. They lived in their family home in Pennsylvania, while commuting to NJ to earn an honest living. They never once bled the system for help or used not speaking English as a means to live a easy life. Once mama Nancy, had a major heart attack is forced her to retire completely from night cleaning. That was not easy as that was much of the extra money they used for gas, food expenses and family. Now they volunteer 3x a week at a Pantry to help others, and constantly bring food for all their loved ones and neighbors. Constantly living by their Christian Faith and giving all they can. They did just fine all these years, a simple lifestyle caring for everyone in their path. Teaching grandkids Spanish, caring for all those less fortunate and feeding anyone they could. Recently Nancy and Nelson have fallen victim to nothing more than a language/ contract deficit, that they just never understood. They entered into a 2nd mortgage years ago, approx. 15 years now, where their payments were just going towards interest. This style loan, a predatory, balloon loan is where once due, you OWE IT ALL. Well come March of 2021 they were still owing the FULL LOAN from when it began, almost 30,000. PHH has the audacity to want more interest and a modification in sacrifice for all that money they already obtained, or else auction the property. The company refuses to help this elderly non-English speaking family w/ a modification or new payment arranagement. Of course, who would want to stay with them, but the Diversion process, is inevitable when you don't have 30k lying around. Call it naive call it a horrible gap between understanding contracts and a company that probably never sat and explained this all them years ago. But since Sept 2022 I have worked religiously on this day and night & this horrible company PHH doesnt give in. Every time finding a BS reason to deny them or pretend a complete packet has never been done. I have done 9. We want to help them pay the 2nd mortgage and be done! They do hold a primary mortgage which is up to date whereas they never intended to NOT PAY PHH the Co. just refused to keep accepting monthly checks. This is heartbreaking for US, the stress it has caused everyone. Nancy/Nelson, came here from Puerto Rico and worked so long, for this to happen-it just cant be. They are sweet and kind and would never ask even their Church for help but I cannot continue to fight a company with two jobs and a little boy to run around and getting nowhere daily. We have consumer complaints in, and I have stalled the eviction, as PHH presses to take their property. The eviction process has begun & w/ lawyers fees at 850/monthly and GUARANTEEING NOTHING we want to get them out of this loan with NO MODIFICATION under the same brutally aggressive company w/ no compassion whatsoever. If you know them you know its very hard w/ pride to do this but they are ever so grateful. Thank you and if possible, please SHARE.
