Dear Friends and Family,
In 2015, you made a generous gift you made to Nadia, Sofia, and Olivia Gaydos after the untimely and traumatic death of their mother (and our dear friend), Shelane.
You may have noticed that your gift was returned to you by Indiegogo at the beginning of this month. Our understanding is that Indiegogo was acquired by GoFundMe, and that in an effort to have a clean slate, the company returned all funds it was holding on behalf of our campaign (and all other campaigns). We had raised $11,600.00. Our plan had been for Indiegogo to hold the funds until we were able to set up a proper account for Shelane's girls, with legal safeguards in place to protect the money until they were older. Unfortunately, that did not happen before GoFundMe acquired Indiegogo and returned every contribution. The text of the original campaign follows this message.
So, what now? Our goal remains the same: fund an account that provides some financial help to Shelane's girls in the future. Our hope is to re-raise the money for Nadia, Sofia and Olivia, and get an account squared away shortly thereafter.
UPDATE: We're pleased to share that Shelane's mom, Joanne Bryant, has accepted our request to be the custodian the of the funds. Joanne will ensure that the funds are deposited in the girls' college accounts.
To that end, we set up a new campaign with GoFundMe, which you can check out here. And, we are asking you to re-give your gift. Raising the same funds twice is going to be a challenge, but we are hopeful that despite the passage of time, our collective goal remains.

On June 12, 2015 we lost our beautiful friend, Shelane. Shelane was hilarious and brave; she was devoted to her family; she was not as good of a dancer as she thought she was. She left behind many dear friends, a devoted husband and three girls under the age of 8.
We are raising money for our fierce, beautiful friend's three fierce, beautiful girls. We hope to raise enough to be able to start a college fund for them. Regardless of the amount, the money we raise will be used entirely for their benefit.
Please give whatever you can. Every donation will help make the road a little bit smoother for Shelane's girls.
