“My life is one from prison to praise,” says Lisa Bennett. What do you get when you take someone raised from a family of alcoholics and child abuse, mix in personal drug addiction, and a pinch of psychiatric lockdown? You get someone who, after discovering who Jesus Christ was, is ultimately a friend and mentor to the sick, dying, addicted, in jail, widows and orphans. She knows intimately what it's like being on the other side, and there isn’t anywhere she wouldn’t go to help. After graduating as a licensed vocational nurse, graduating Bible College, University and Seminary, later earning her doctorate and is now a Psychotherapist, Dr. Lisa wrapped up all her God-given gifts, sold her home and set out on a cross-cultural missionary.
Lisa served over 20 years in the United States, as a nurse on a traveling team, assisting a doctor with the homeless underneath bridges, working in battered women shelters and teen runaway homes. She worked in a group home with foster children, with court ordered batterers and in a domestic violence prevention program. Lisa worked with women and children to help them overcome addiction. While forever committed to serving those in the U.S., she’s also been called to travel throughout Europe and most recently Africa where she aided in building an orphanage for children of imprisoned women. Now the next stop: India.
Lisa will be serving alongside an army called Women of the World. They are on a mission to rescue children from brothels, victims of sex trafficking. She has profound, spiritually tangible IMPACT in ministry and healing. She begins her trip in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh where she will minister at two conferences. Then, she will teach at Lucknow Theological College, then minister to children and women at the slum school. Next, she will fly to Madhya Pradesh to hold a mini-Olympics for 600+ children. Where Lisa needs the most support is when she leaves to Mumbai, apart from the missionary team.
We are seeking your help in 3 ways:
First, we ask for your prayers. Pray for the women and children, specifically for their safety and healing. Pray for the Holy Spirit to work through Lisa to have maximum impact for the communities at large.
Second, we need help to spread the word about this mission. If you know Lisa personally, you know her heart is true. Speak that in your sharing with others please.
Third, we are asking for your financial support. Lisa will need to plan logistics to ensure her safety and well-being, including hiring a body guard and translator, safe lodging, food, travel, drivers, and more. Anything that you are able to give will go a long way in supporting Lisa and the lives that she will touch.
Thank you in advance, and God Bless.
