Heat Things Up, Help The Oakridge Warming Center
Donation protected
Oakridge, Oregon, is a small community in the Cascade mountains. We lost the building for our warming center and needed to get creative in meeting our community's needs on nights when the temperature drops below freezing. The city gifted us the temporary use of a community building at one of our parks. It is a big open room, and we need privacy for our guests. We landed on using tents. We will need about ten one-person tents to put up in the building. Additionally, we need a small shed to store our sleeping mats, blankets, and kitchen utensils when we are not using the facility. We estimate the cost to be $1500.00. It doesn’t seem like much, but this program is entirely volunteer, so we appreciate your help.
Please donate to this GoFundMe page or donate directly to the Oakridge Food Bank(UWCDC) earmarked for the Oakridge Warming Center. The warming center is under the Oakridge Food Banks 501(C) umbrella and will manage donated funds. Donations of single-person tents may be dropped off at the Lion Mountain Bakery. Amazon Tent Link
