Restore Hope for Family After Fire Loss

Donation protected
My husband woke me up at 1230 am and screamed, "The house is on fire!" I screamed for him to get the kids as I ran out our burning back door to try to get the hose to put some water on the fire in hopes to save our home. As I rounded the corner in the kitchen it was already in the laundry room and had melted the dryer and was burning the roof of the laundryroom. My hose was melted. I ran to the front hose and started spraying. But the water running onto the ground was getting so hot that it was boiling my barefeet. I burned the side of my face and burnt off my eyelashes. My feet have blisters. I couldnt put it out because it was in the attic and I didn't know it. We lost everything. My children have lost all their comforts and the insurance adjuster said that it was a full gut of the house and complete rebuild. There was nothing salvageable. The restoration company has been canceled because everything is burnt or smoked up so bad that it is beyond saving. All the furniture and clothes and pictures are gone. We have each other and are unhurt for the most part. This is the most heartbreaking loss I have ever experienced besides losing my Daddy in April. We plan to rebuild but in the meantime we have to have another place to stay. We are currently in the Hampton in Lavonia and eating out and driving back to Toccoa to take the kids to work and pick up is expensive. Also washing 5 people's clothes in a laundromat. I've never appreciated a washer and dryer more in my life. Everything smells like smoke...everywhere we go. My son lost all his games and his star wars books that he loves. My older daughter lost all her scrubs for work that she just bought and all her shoes, her yarn to crochet. My youngest daughter lost all her art supplies and crafty things her paints and canvases. Its really hard to tell them that these things are now trash and most cant be replaced.
I plan to use these donations to help feed us during the stay at the hotel and to buy the things that have been lost. There are so many things you dont realize you need everyday until you dont have them. Also, my husband's truck keys burned up in the fire. Nissan said we have to have the truck towed to Gainesville and then its 550.00 dollars to have the key cut and programmed just so he can drive his truck again back and forth to work. We are eating out alot because we dont have a kitchen, just a microwave. That gets expensive. We are kindof living from the car like a big suitcase because there's no room in the hotel room for our stuff and everything we did manage to get from the house to try to clean up is smokey. My whole car smells like a burnt house.
