Dear Friends, Family and Colleagues,

 

My name is Shih-Wei Peng. I live in San Francisco, California, USA.

 

Today we are facing one of the greatest humanitarian tragedies since World War II. Putin's attack on Ukraine has displaced millions. According to the United Nations, more than three million people have fled their homes into neighboring countries.

 

As I watch this tragedy unfold, I have concluded that this is one of those moments in time when I must act and play a role, however small, in helping humanity. Therefore, I have decided to take some time off from work, travel to the Polish/Ukrainian border and help in whatever way I can. I will start by volunteering at the World Central Kitchen in Przemysl, Poland. The link to their website is www.wck.org

 

My son Andrew helped me create this GoFundMe to raise money to help Ukrainian refugees and an Instagram for those who are interested to join me on this journey starting April 8. Follow me @helping_ukraine_2022

 

Just to be clear, 100% of the money you donate will be placed into the hands of Ukrainian women and children who need financial help. Absolutely none of your support will go towards my travel or overhead expenses, which I will cover. Please also note that this fundraiser is not a registered charity, so your support will not be tax-deductible.

 

This is not a solicitation. But if you are interested in helping, I will make sure that your gift is placed directly in the hands of the people who need it most. And if there is any money left over at the end of my trip, I will entrust it to the WCK, the Red Cross or another well respected organization to ensure that it is used in the most effective manner.
