Hi, my name is Courtney, and I am a mother of 3, fighting for something no parent should ever have to beg for — the right to be with my children. I am currently involved in an unexpected and overwhelming guardianship and custody battle that has turned my family’s life upside down. I have never had a criminal record, have never been found unfit, and my children were in my care when a temporary guardianship was granted without warning.

Despite being a fit and willing parent, I am now being forced into an emergency legal fight just to restore my parental rights and protect my children from being kept from me without court authority.

What’s happening;

A temporary guardianship was granted during a time of family crisis that had nothing to do with my ability to parent. I was blindsided by the proceedings and only later learned that the guardianship was connected to the impending incarceration of someone else — not me.

Since then, I have faced:

Denial of visitation and communication with my children

Immediate legal filings to protect my parental rights

Emergency court hearings that require legal representation

Guardianship is supposed to be temporary and protective, not a way to separate children from a fit parent. Unfortunately, that is what is happening here.

Why I need help?

Custody and guardianship cases move fast and are incredibly expensive. Between:

Attorney fees

Emergency filings

Court costs

Document preparation and evidence

The financial burden has become overwhelming — but giving up is not an option when it comes to my children.

Every dollar raised will go directly toward:

Retaining and maintaining legal counsel

Emergency court hearings

Motions to terminate guardianship

Protecting my children’s best interests

Why this matters;

Children deserve stability, safety, and love — especially from their parent. I am fighting not only for my rights, but for my children’s emotional well-being and their right to be with their mother.

This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced, but I refuse to stay silent or powerless.
