Hi my name is Nathan Harris. I’m 34 years old and, to be completely honest, I’ve got little to no long distance running experience. So naturally... I signed up for a half marathon. On the 28th of September 2025, I’ll be taking on this challenge—not just for myself, but for a cause that’s become deeply personal.
Earlier this year, someone very close to me—someone I love dearly—was diagnosed with breast cancer. It came as a huge shock to our whole family. Watching her go through treatment, facing each day with strength, resilience, and unwavering positivity, has been nothing short of inspiring. She's faced this battle like a true warrior, and she’s reminded me just how powerful the human spirit can be.
So, I’ve decided to run in her honour, and in support of everyone affected by breast cancer. I’m raising money to contribute, in whatever way I can, to the ongoing fight against this disease. Every donation—no matter how big or small—will go towards supporting vital research and care. The charity we are donating to will be FOCUS, the Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals charity.
This half marathon will be a huge challenge for me (believe me, I’ve never even run for a bus without getting out of breath), but it’s nothing compared to what so many people go through when facing cancer. If I can turn this challenge into something positive, then every aching muscle and blister will be worth it.
Thank you so much for your support. It truly means the world.
Nathan
