Aiden’s Eagle Project for Homeless Veterans

My name is Aiden Ruddick and am a Life Scout from Boy Scout Troop 81 in Midway Park, NC. I am currently planning my Eagle Project, and I am in need of donations for some items that are required to carry out my project. I will be partnering with my local VFW (Post 9133) to acquire and distribute a minimum of 75 care packs for homeless veterans within my community in Feb 2023. Each care pack will contain items for hygiene as well as shelter. The intent of my project is to care for the ones who have served. The number of homeless veterans in our nation is eye-opening, and very alarming. According to a 2019 report from Veterans Data, North Carolina alone is estimated to have about 800 veterans that are qualified as being homeless. By receiving these care packs, I hope that these veterans will find a sense of belonging within my community as well as the nation.
