Trans Rights are Human Rights - Birthday Fundraiser

Hi, my name is Ben, I am a trans man in Ireland, and my 27th birthday is coming up on May 23rd. With the legislations passed by the Supreme Court in the UK, and the rising transphobia around the world, I want my 27th birthday to be dedicated to my community.

In my Instagram bio, I am also fundraising for Mermaids UK (I can't add two charities here or there, for some reason). The money I raise from these two fundraisers will help these charities continue to work for and with trans people across the UK and Ireland.

At the end - on May 23rd, my birthday - I will be shaving my head. I've always wanted to, but have been too scared. But I have decided that I want to create a new life for myself, a fresh start. As a trans man, I have consistently felt like I need to live up to the expectations of others, but I've recently learned that I can express myself in whatever way I want to.

I want to create a fresh start for myself, and start living authentically, and this means starting over.
