Hi my name is Chris and I am trying to help our family who find themselves in a stressful and difficult situation..

My friend and brother in-law Anthony Mitchell aka Titch/Titchy was diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer on the 27th February this year. Although there is massive hope his treatment and then operation will be successful its still massively life changing for them.
Titch was made redundant in August last year and although he found another job it was only on a short term contract which could not be extended when they found out he was not going to be fit to work for at least 12 months during his treatment, operation and recovery.
As if that wasn't enough, his wife Jenny who is doing everything she can to care for Titch and their two children has her own serious health battle. She was diagnosed with MS last August and the condition can worsen under stress. Watching her husband suffer through the brutal side effects of chemotherapy while trying to continue to work and raise their kids is heart-breaking and exhausting, especially for someone with her own health issues.
Titch has just started chemotherapy following a week of radiotherapy with several more months of treatment followed by an operation. This family has worked hard all their lives. Trying to access financial support now, when they need it most, has been unbelievably difficult and disheartening.
Two life altering diagnosis's in the space of 6 months, is hard to imagine a more overwhelming situation.
I want to do something to help, to ease even a bit of the financial burden they are facing. That is why I am challenging myself to run 200km (125 mile) during the month of May.
I have been a fairly regular runner for the past 16 months, but I have never attempted anything like this. It is going to be tough, especially as the weather warms up but not nothing compared to the strength Titch and Jenny show everyday.
If you can spare a donation, it would mean so much.
Thank you reading.
