My parents were working on buying a home to retire in. Just before their close date, someone contacted them claiming to be from the title company handling their close. They were contacting them to work out the details to wire their cash payment. After completing the wire process they discovered they had been talking to people not involved with the closing. Their entire cash payment was stolen.

The seller has extended the closing date, and my parents are working to figure out whatever they can to still be able to get the house.
