I'm a single mom to two awesome kids; one who happens to be transgender. I am fighting for custody and to continue his treatment.
Ariel (his chosen name), my son, has been seeing a therapist and an endocrinologist and is officially diagnosed with "gender dysphoria".
The past year has been a roller coaster and we have had to move schools on a few occasions due to bullying. Unfortunately there is a lack of support, in regards to his transition, to the point of name calling and bullying, due to a lack of belief in the "LGBT lifestyle".
I've seen an angry and sad child turn into a hopeful and happy young man allowed to live as his true self. The recent turmoil has caused and aggravated more mental health issues and I need to be able to continue to give him a stable and loving environment.
As a mother, I want to continue to fight for him and give him the best quality of life possible.
This lawyer has our best interest in mind and I trust she will fight for us but I our situation has made it difficult to afford the costs of hiring her for the situation. Any bit helps as we will also need to hire mediators to try and resolve the issue outside of court.
