Mylah Heaven Morin

Hello everyone! I am starting a fundraiser for my sister Kayla and her little family. My niece Mylah Heaven Morin was born Jan 22/25, during pregnancy they found on the ultrasound that she had enlarged brain ventricles and diagnosed her with Ventriculomegaly. When she was born they ended up in the NICU for 9 days because she was choking on her feeds she’s been on a feeding tube since birth, in the NICU they did an MRI on her brain and found she was born without a Corpus Collosum and an underdeveloped Cerebellum therefore diagnosed with Dandy Walker Malformation. Since then they’ve been in and out of different hospitals for different reasons from Saskatoon, PA, NB, and now Edmonton. She is now diagnosed with severe Laryngomalacia, Dysphagia, and found out her voice box is not sitting where it’s supposed to. They just recently moved to Edmonton because Ryan was on a tight time frame to finish his 4th year of pipefitting, 2 weeks into his course Mylah ended up in the PICU and stayed in the hospital for 2 weeks which made it hard for him to focus, he withdrew from school to be with his daughter.

they are once again in the PICU for her breathing problems, the ENT doctor says he may be able to help her but he needs to wait for her to be a bit older to perform the surgery she needs, in the meantime they are continuing to monitor, and helping her breathe. Mylah is only 11 weeks old and she’s been on quite the journey already. Kayla has been a stay at home mother with their 2 year old son Keyano and baby Mylah needing her full time care, she has no income and they are now only relying on Ryan’s EI.

Ryan and Kayla are a strong and independent young family, and reaching out for help is never easy for them, but sometimes life’s challenges leaves us with no other choice. Please If you are able to donate, or even just share their story, you’ll be making a real difference.
