Myanmar People Relief Fund

For those that do not know, there was a military coup in Myanmar after elected leader Aung San Suu Kyi won the election in a landslide and the military did not agree with the results. They have now detained the elected leader and her members of the NLD party and have taken control of the country. They claim the election was fraudulent and what they are doing is legal but they are trying to stop democracy. They have detained foreigners and reporters and are killing their own people. The people are protesting and fighting back. 

I have a friend from Myanmar who I worked with in Thailand who is back in Myanmar and he has told me about the atrocities happening there every day. I have posted about the events but I want do more than just spread awareness so I am making this fund to give money to the protesters  so they can buy supplies they need to protest such as medication, food and other supplies. This fund is also to directly help poor families in Myanmar that have been disrupted by the military and are not able to work and feed their families. Lastly this fund is also to donate to Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) who are fighting back against the military and their dictatorship. The protesters and country need to fund this movement if they have any chance in winning back their country.

I know we are all in tough times right now because of the pandemic but we are still privileged to not have to be going through what Myanmar is. Not only are they suffering because of the pandemic but now also a dictatorship who is killing them literally. We can't just look while people are suffering. We have to do our part to help. Anything you can donate would be a big help to the people of Myanmar and this fund goes directly to them. Please join me in helping these citizens in the little ways we can.
