Hello! My family and I have recently tested positive for COVID-19. We are all essential workers that have been working full time throughout this pandemic. My mother is the one that got the virus first. There is speculation that someone in her boyfriends place of work had the virus and he failed to let her know in time. Her case is severe and spent 4 nights in the hospital. She was discharged after a nurse took her temperature of 110 degrees and she did not understand why they were sending her home because of the language barrier. She was sent home without them knowing If there was someone available at home to care for her. After my mother came back home, my brother was rushed to the hospital as well, testing positive for COVID-19 & Pneumonia just like my mother. He has been there ever since. My sister tested positive, thankfully she has no symptoms. We worried for her because she is 7 months pregnant and we feared that this would effect her health. Finally, I’ve also tested positive for COVID-19. Thankfully, my job is paying me for the 2-3 weeks that I’ll be gone but it is not enough for my household of 7 people. Both of my brothers and mother are out of work with no paid-time-off and this fundraiser would really help us all for the next 2-3 weeks.

Mi hermana dio positivo, afortunadamente no tiene síntomas. Nos preocupamos por ella porque tiene 7 meses de embarazo y temíamos que esto afectara su salud. Finalmente, también he dado positivo por COVID-19. Afortunadamente, mi trabajo me paga por las 2-3 semanas que me iré, pero no es suficiente para mi hogar de 7 personas.
