Hi, my name is Erin Wnorowski, and I’m raising money for one of my best friends of 25 years and her two young children.

My friend has made the brave and heartbreaking decision to leave a long-term relationship marked by addiction and abuse. She is now doing the difficult work of rebuilding a safe, stable, and healthy life for her family.

She has always been the kind of person who gives everything to others — even when she has little herself. Now, she needs our help to get back on her feet and give her children the security they deserve.

Chances are you know me or someone like me. I am a mother of two beautiful young children, and I am now a single mom because I feel I have no other choice. My partner has been dealing with addiction and, although I am heartbroken, I have to accept that he is not willing to get help. I can no longer stay or keep my children in his presence while he uses.

It is not lost on me that it is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
