My Son Needs help: Between Jobs and Needs Surgery

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jeri, and as some of you may already know my son Greg and his wife Alyssa are going through some exceptionally trying times right now. Being on a fixed income, I cannot do much at all to help them.

Greg’s sister and I were thinking we could use this platform to reach out to as many of their friends and family as we could in hopes of raising some money to help them make it through the next few months.

Here’s a summary, without getting too personal, of why they need the help:
● Greg is suffering from a condition that has forced him to resign from his salaried position and normally he provided over 2⁄3 of the total household income.
● Monthly rent and utilities exceed $2500. This month’s are paid but that pretty much burns through all of their savings and any emergency fund they had in place.
● This is Alyssa’s off-season so currently Greg’s income is even more important.
● Part of Greg’s healing and wellness includes a service dog. Greg is currently training his
dog and monthly expenses including classes exceed $750. She is currently behind on
her vet visits.
● Greg’s current therapy regimen incurs monthly expenses not covered by insurance
exceeding $200.
● Due to much-needed transmission repairs, they have recently been reduced to a one-car household. That has been a huge strain on them and they need the repairs made as
soon as possible. The cost of repairs is approximately $1500.
● Greg has had 2 operations on his left hand and one on his right. His right hand needs a
second operation for him to be able to continue to work or work again after he gets through all of this. And post-op downtime could exceed 8 weeks. This alone means Greg will not be able to work for at least that long either way.
● Greg is also possibly facing a knee operation shortly. At the very least he will need more physical therapy. Either way, he will have expenses not covered by insurance.
● Greg is trying to find a job that he can work as he deals with everything and heals but his condition may make finding work very difficult as will his need for a second operation on his right hand, a possible upcoming knee surgery, and the resulting post-op down times.

I think that’s about all I can share comfortably. And I really hope it is enough to convey how great their need is. Neither Greg nor Alyssa have ever been much for keeping secrets and although this was unsolicited by either of them and neither will see this before it’s posted, I discussed things with them and I’m sure they’ll answer any questions you may have.

Thanks for your time and for considering helping out my son and his wife. Those of you who know them also know what special people they are and it shouldn't be hard to get them more than the goal we’ve set!

Thank you all again and God bless you!
