My sisters battle against cancer
Donation protected
This year me and my girlfriend Abi have set ourselves 2 challenges to raise money for my sister in her fight against cancer
-
Our first challenge will be in may where we will be climbing snowdon the tallest mountain in England & wales, then our second challenge will be the start of June where we’ll do a more local one of the Sutton run which is just over 13.6km.
-
My sister is now fighting cancer for the second time in her life, a year and a half ago she was diagnosed with gtd (Gestational trophoblastic disease is the name for abnormal cells or tumours that start in the womb from cells that would normally develop into the placenta. They are extremely rare but can happen during or after pregnancy. Most are non cancerous however some are cancerous)
-
She started chemotherapy straight away however after 4 different types of chemotherapy and several round of immunotherapy the cancer still keeps coming back
-
Because of how rare the cancer is she has to attend a hospital in London regularly as you can imagine this isn’t cheap to drive there & back and sometimes stay down there for the night
-
She underwent emergency surgery and had a hysterectomy which we hoped would be the final hurdle but unfortunately we didn’t get the news we wanted from it
-
She has a 1 year old beautiful baby called Millie and every day no matter what she puts a smile on & a brave face. It has been heartbreaking to see her go through this horrible time but I couldn’t be prouder of her and her positivity.
-
After loosing our Mom to cancer in 2015 it’s been hard enough for my sister, no one should have to go through what she is, family and creating memories really is the most important thing to her.
-
I know it’s a tough time for everyone atm and so we appreciate any support we get it mean the world to Ellie.
thank you
