Help Them Break Her Domestic Violence Chains

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lashaunda Kellum, I will begin today with my mission. I am asking everyone to support, by donating to this fundraiser and helping me help fulfill my sister's dream goal of being a first-time home buyer.

On February 20, 2022, my sister and her children had to abruptly flee their home due to a Domestic violence situation. My sister was involved in a emotionally and mentally damaging marriage that then became physically abusing. I call my sister a survivor of Domestic Violence because She had to leave all of her and her daughters belongings behind to escape safely. The physical abuse was not only towards my sister but my nieces as well. My niece 14yrs old was forced outside in the middle of winter, my 12-year-old niece experienced a major panic attack.

On this cold night, my sister Tandia was doing her nightly routine getting ready for bed when in a rage, her abuser kicked her bedroom door in and held her hostage. She made several pleas for him to stop, and he answered those pleas by balling up his fist and punching her on the side of her head. That night, the abuse began with him throwing totes and whipping her with a wooden rod. He continued his rage by throwing dirty clothes and a clothes hamper at her.

Her cries of pain were answered by her two daughters entering the room to see the mayhem that had transpired. My sadness turned to anger when I learned Their hysterical cries and pleas to their father didn't even make this abuser stop. My sisters escape plan had to be swift and quick. It began with a call to the police and quickly slipping out the back door. With only the clothes they had on their back my sister began to realize my 12-year-old nieces' phone had been confiscated by their abuser. By our conversation that night it seemed like the police took hours, but literally took minutes to arrive. With their safety no longer my biggest concern. My priority began with ensuring my sister and nieces never had to return to that type of dysfunctional environment again.

Domestic violence is something that me and my sister witnessed during our childhood. things like blood smears on the wall and hearing our mother cries for help; a change has to begin here and now. With this beginning step, I believe I can start our cycle of change by breaking generational curses and fulfilling my sister's dream of owning her own home and the first homeowner in our family.

her endless efforts to save to achieve her dream have been exhausting she doesn’t have the earnest money needed to purchase her home. Earnest money is the good faith deposit, usually 1-3% of the home's total cost, to guarantee the seller that the buyer is serious, like a security deposit.

The gratitude that I am going to feel when you choose to donate is unmeasurable. This fundraiser, as survivors is our journey to become warriors. Our cause is real, our cause needs to be heard so help us begin this change with contributing whatever you are able.
Thank you I appreciate your time and support!
