Hi, I’m Samantha and I have created this go fund me for my sister and her family.
They have been trying so hard for so long against extremely challenging circumstances to keep their heads above water but they are running out of time.
My brother in law wrote this description of their situation and how they got there:
My name is Jamie, I am disabled and unable to work due to ongoing medical conditions that require expensive, life-sustaining medications. I have Ankylosing Spondylitis, D.I.S.H disease, COPD, Diabetes and various other illnesses. My extremely hardworking wife was recently let go from her job due to restructuring within the organization. Her job had been our financial lifeline, providing steady income and critically essential benefits. She is currently working part time jobs and delivering food between shifts to try to make ends meet while searching for a permanent position.
Now, with no stable income, we’ve fallen critically behind on our hydro bill. The total has climbed to $5,200, largely because we were forced to run electric heat throughout the winter after being unable to afford propane for the furnace. Hydro cannot legally disconnect our power during the coldest months, but that grace period ended in April — and now, we’ve been given a 48-hour disconnection notice.
Losing electricity would be devastating — not just for basic living, but also for my health. My medications require refrigeration, and I rely on power-dependent devices. Without electricity, we’re facing serious risks.
We never imagined we’d be in a position to ask for help like this and it hurts our hearts to have to do it now, but we are doing everything we can to hold on — and right now, we need a lifeline to keep our family of four safely housed.
If you’re able to contribute — no matter the amount — it will go directly toward paying this urgent bill and keeping our home safe and livable. Even sharing this page with others would mean so much.
Thank you for reading our story and for any support you can offer. From the bottom of our hearts, we are truly grateful.
With hope and gratitude,
Jamie and Family
