My Medical Mission in Nigeria ♥️

Hi, everyone! I am so excited to be traveling back to Nigeria this fall to participate in my second medical mission with the Voom Foundation.
My experience last year was one for the books! It was a life changing experience and one I will remember forever! I am so happy to have the opportunity to help more kids in Nigeria get a chance at receiving lifesaving cardiac surgery. Last year our team performed 15 open heart surgeries in just 5 days! Without medical missions like this one these children would have no access to cardiac intervention and medical care that we take for granted in America.
I am starting my fundraising efforts for costs of traveling to Nigeria and items I feel would be helpful, fun and supportive for the kiddos receiving heart surgery.
Thank you for all your support with my fundraising effort but also your support as a cardiac NICU nurse. The experiences I have had in my career have been the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. I wouldn’t be able to continue doing what I do without the support and understanding of those around me.

Costs that you will be helping with:
It costs $200 to add a 50lb box of supplies onto my delta baggage allowance. I brought two 50lb boxes last year and would love to bring more! Our group brought over 50 boxes on the flight!
Costs that are not covered for the cardiac surgery are estimated around $2500 dollars - this includes the hospital stay, pre/post surgical evaluations, meals and other hospital costs.
Toys, supportive items and necessities for patients and their families. These patients are brave and do not ask for anything but the joy a simple rubik’s cube or toy airplane brought was immeasurable.
My flight to Nigeria and visa - estimated to be around $2000.
Anything additional will be donated to the Voom Foundation.
