My nephew Beau has been surfing since he was a little kid--and he's amazing. Sadly this morning he fell off a wave in Baja California Sur, Mexico, at about 10 feet and landed on a sandbar and broke his back. He has a compression fracture on his L1, as confirmed by an MRI. He likely needs surgery and may need to be transported back to the States. We have several family friends in medicine who are helping to confirm the best path.

He won't be able to work for some time and can use financial assistance. Even a few dollars will help ease the way. I will continue to update here as more information comes out.
