Hi, my name is Komal. I’m raising funds for my mother in law, who is currently in India and very unwell. She was recently diagnosed with AML (acute myeloid leukaemia). Since then, everything has changed. She needs constant medical care, regular blood and platelet transfusions, and strong medication just to keep going. Without treatment, this illness can become life threatening very quickly.

My husband is in India right now, staying by her side and helping care for her. Being so far away from each other during this time has been incredibly hard for us.

So far, my husband and I have used up our savings and have already spent around $30,000 CAD on her treatment. And the medical costs are still ongoing. We honestly didn’t expect things to reach this point, but we’re doing everything we can to give her a fighting chance.

The funds raised will go directly towards hospital bills, including blood and platelet transfusions, medications, injections if needed, food for her during treatment, transport to and from the hospital and other medical expenses that keep coming up.

Asking for help is not easy for me, but we’ve reached a point where we can’t do this alone anymore. Any support at all, even a small amount, would mean so much to us right now. This situation is very time sensitive, and every bit truly helps. We’ve kept photos to a minimum to respect her privacy, but if anyone needs more information or would like to see updates, we’re happy to share privately.
