Hi, my name is Adil Ahanaf Fahim, and I’m a student living in Vancouver, Canada.

My mother, Ainun Nahar, came from overseas to visit me for a short trip. What was supposed to be a joyful reunion suddenly turned into one of the hardest moments of our lives — she suffered a severe brain stroke and required emergency surgery (aneurysm coiling) to save her life.

Because she was here on a visitor visa, she did not have medical insurance, and the hospital required immediate payment. The surgical fee alone was $12,500, not including the costs for medication, hospital stay, and post-surgery care.

As a full-time student, I’m doing my best to handle my studies, rent, and daily expenses, but this unexpected financial burden has become overwhelming.

I’m creating this GoFundMe to raise funds to cover my mother’s surgery costs and ongoing recovery expenses. Every donation — no matter how small — will go directly toward her hospital bills and rehabilitation.

My mother, Ainun, is a loving, selfless woman who has always put others before herself. Seeing her go through this has been heartbreaking, but I’m grateful that she’s still with us. Your kindness and support will mean more to me and my family than words can express.
