Please help my mom get safe and reliable transportation

Hey everyone! My name is Phoenix and I’m trying to help my mom, Kimberly, raise money for a vehicle.

A little backstory. My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal breast cancer when I was 12. That didn’t hold my mom back, and next thing you know she was in remission. Then we were surprised when the cancer came back, this time in a different area. It was rough, but my mom is a superstar and it wasn’t long before she was again in remission. Fast forward a couple of years and the breast cancer is back. My mom tends to laugh in the face of death though and after another rough period, she is again in remission. However, it is no longer a question of if it comes back, but when and how. She still has chemo treatment every third Friday, with multiple scans and appointments in between. Needless to say, everyone, patients and staff included, know who my mom is.

Here’s where the trouble is. Two years ago, my mom bought a car to make sure she could make it to all her appointments. This car isn’t worth the wheels it sits on, which are also not in the best condition. Three weeks ago, she was coming home from treatment when the power steering went out, luckily as she was pulling into a gas station, and the car died on her. We tried restarting it multiple times, but it would immediately stall back out. We’ve called a couple of different garages and the consensus is the same. The repairs will cost anywhere from $1500-2000. Unfortunately the car is not worth putting the money in to fix it.

The cancer center has been great with helping my mom get rides to appointments, but it isn’t foolproof and I’ve had to miss work at times to make sure she gets the care she needs. She needs her own vehicle. We have recently found one, but we’re short on the cost of the vehicle. We just need that final push to help with the final costs so she can have reliable and safe transportation.

I’m not asking for anyone to donate a large sum, just what you can. And hopefully, this will reach enough people that those small donations can equal out to what we need. Any help would be greatly appreciated. She’s such an amazing, strong person, and she’s been through so much. She deserves to have something safe and reliable.
