My mission trip to Hawaii

Hi, my name is Grace, and I am looking to raise £3000 for my mission trip to Hawaii in September 2025.

What is Revolution Hawaii?

Revolution Hawaii is a 14 week Christian programme based in Oahu, Hawaii. It is focused on community service, urban mission and personal discipleship.

What will I be doing there?

There are 3 main aspects to the Revolution Hawaii programme:

Community service: The team and I will be working with the disadvantaged youth and homeless communities on the island of Oahu, aiming to show God’s love through service. We will be doing this for 9-12 hours a week. The aim is to build friendships with families and individuals and communicate the love of Jesus in both work and deed. This also involves daily prayer meetings for those we have bonded with in the community.

Urban Mission: I will be involved in a local Church at least 3 times a week, helping with things such Bible studies, worship and Sunday school classes, . The goal here is to become part of God’s family in my new community and establish a spiritual base from which I can reach out to those in my neighbourhood.

Personal growth and discipleship: Revolution Hawaii encourages and teaches each team member to pursue the disciplines of thought, prayer, worship, sacrifice, and service, and to draw closer to God by showing his love to some of his most precious people. This involves weekly reflections, studying books and other materials to help us think critically about the deeper issues of life, and team devotions.

What will the money be used for?

The £3000 that I’m aiming to raise will cover all the basics of my trip (except flights, which I am aiming to fund myself). This includes accommodation, food and other basic necessities. Revolution Hawaii encourages simple living and puts emphasis on not being materialistic. This means only having what I need, not having access to the internet/social media during the week and, most importantly, not spending any money on gifts, souvenirs and material things when I am out there. The will help me to truly focus on the mission that I am there for.
