Answering the Call: Bringing Health Education and Hope to Children and Caretakers at a Kenyan Orphanage

The Calling and the Mission

Hi, my name is Eva Martinez, and I am answering a calling that has been on my heart for years: to serve the children and caretakers at an orphanage in Kenya, Africa. This isn't just a trip; it's a mission to share my time, my love, and my specific health knowledge with a community that deserves all the support the world can offer.

My Two-Fold Mission

My time in Kenya will be dedicated to two primary goals:

* Hands-On Service: I will be fully immersed in the daily life of the orphanage, providing much-needed attention and love to the children. This includes assisting with daily necessities like cooking, cleaning, general maintenance, and ensuring the children have a nurturing presence.

* Sharing Essential Health Knowledge: As someone extremely passionate about health and wellness, I will be hosting informal educational sessions for both the children and their caretakers. I plan to share vital knowledge on basic hygiene, nutrition, and first-aid, empowering them with practical, life-long skills to improve their health and well-being.

Transparency: Where Your $5,000 Goes

My fundraising goal of $5,000 US dollars is based on the specific, non-negotiable costs required to facilitate my travel and participation from Houston, Texas. Your generous donation will cover the following essential components:

Expense Category: Purpose

Round-Trip Airfare: Flight from Houston, TX, to Kenya, Africa. Includes layover/extra leg flight to reach final destination.

Volunteer Program Fee: Essential administrative costs, in-country travel, and organizational support.

10 Days of Lodging & Food: Covering all required accommodation and meals while on the ground serving.

Necessary Travel Costs: Including travel insurance, required vaccinations, and visa fees.

Commitment: Donating Excess Funds

I want to make a firm commitment to every donor: 100% of any money raised over the $5,000 personal goal will be converted and donated directly to the orphanage. This surplus will help fund their most pressing needs, whether it's facility repairs, food, or essential educational materials.
