My Ironman Journey for my Dad & the Lions Club
Donation protected
For the past 5 years, I have been on a journey of physical and mental transformation. Spurred forward by wanting to save my own life from what, a doctor said, would be stunted by preventable chronic disease. This began my search to regain my purpose and fired my quest to heal my body and mind. 2 years into baby-stepping toward health, I found Triathlon. This sport brings with it a supportive and growth-mindset community that held me accountable to my goals. After a year of changing my body and mind, I conquered my first triathlon, Muskoka 70.3 half Ironman. I was hooked. Immediately after the race, I booked the hardest long-distance race I could find, Ironman Canada Penticton on August 27, 2023.
Shortly after I started training for this race last year, my Dad passed away. He was my hero. He dedicated his life to his community through his 30+ years serving in our Copetown Lions Club. After his passing, I joined the Copetown Lions Club to continue to serve the community and important charities we donate to that improve the lives of the vulnerable and at-risk community members in the Greater Hamilton Area.
This leads me to the present day. Why am I asking for your help? With the race 2 weeks out, I want to use this extremely difficult journey to build my fitness to do a full Ironman (3.8km swim, 180km bike, 42.2km run) as a way to raise money for the Lions Club to help 1000's of families that are struggling in Ontario. I have and will suffer to help ease the suffering of so many of our community members.
So please JOIN ME in this journey honour my father and our passion for helping our community members.
