Hi, my name is Tara. I’m am 14 years old and I would like to be adopted by my dad, Dan Anderson.
As long as I can remember my dad has been there for me. He was there for me after I had tubes put in my ears that allowed me to hear clearly. He was also there the night I had to get stitches on my little toe. He was even there when my mom left.
The day my mom left was a day I will never forget. There was a letter waiting for me that day when I got home from school. My mom had packed up and went back to the USA. She assured me that it wasn’t my fault and that she needed to find herself. I was heart broken but, lucky for me my dad was there to pick up the pieces.
That was two years ago. I am now a well adjusted teenage girl. I just started high school and its going great. I have lots of friends, take part in band, bowling, and choir. Unless my dad legally adopts me I will be forced to move back to the United States with my mom. Don’t get me wrong I love my mom but, my life is here with my dad. All I’ve ever known is this and I don’t want to go. In order for my dad to adopt me I need to be come a permanent resident and we need an immigration lawyer. Due to my dad being on WCB we cannot afford it so, that’s why I’m here. This is the last option, Anything would help.
