For my Eagle Project I will be installing a new, high quality bike repair station, chock and pump mounted in a concrete slab at the Truckee Bike Park. The bike park was founded by Brooks Mcmulin and Cortney Knudson who had the vision to create a world class bike park and pump tracks with free access to the community. They partnered with the non profit Biking for a Better World and the town of Truckee to make this dream happen. Brooks and Cortney dedicate hours of their own time everyday along with hiring professional trail builders to create and safely maintain the high quality bike park that is free to use. It is estimated that up to 70,000 people of all ages visit the park each year and up to 400 per day at times. The bike park is special to me and the community and I chose this project so that I can give back and contribute. Here is more about the Truckee Bike Park if interested.
The current bike repair station is in disrepair, missing tools, and people have to lay their bike down to work on it so I felt a good contribution to the park is a new repair station, chock and pump. I constructed the concrete slab with fellow scouts this week but I would really appreciate any donations to help me fund the repair station.
If you feel inspired to help with a donation I would be very grateful. Any amount is greatly appreciated. I raised $900 of the $2600 target before starting this GoFundMe page.
This is a picture of the repair station, chock and pump that I will be installing.
I sincerely appreciate the support.
