My daughter was Diagnosed with Osteosarcoma
Donation protected
Hello my name is Tara and I have currently started a GO FUND page for my 14 year old daughter Micah, she has been playing basketball since she was 8years old, she recently had Reconstructive ACL and Meniscus surgery February 15, 2023 due to playing basketball on her 8th grade team. She did Physical Therapy and follow up appointments within this year. Unfortunately we Noticed her thigh was swollen and she was in a lot of pain, which I took her to the ER due to the pain, they mentioned that it was a Hematoma. I did get a 2nd opinion with Ortho Pediatric and after an X-ray was done they wanted to do a MRI. I found out 2 weeks ago that her MRI showed Periosteal Osteosarcoma/ Rare Bone cancer, which is in the same leg from her surgery. Since then we started Chemotherapy on the 16th and she hasn’t reacted well. Micah has constantly been sick due to the Chemotherapy and I am not sure how I will be able to work FT at the moment. Between taking her twin sister back and forth to school due to moving, I don’t know how I am going to be able to continue to run a FT Babysitter service in my home. Nor return back to CAT/STS. I’m asking if anyone can donate whatever they can to help with out of pocket expenses for my daughter and assistance to just keep me ahead of my rent , utilities and other necessities, My twins and I will be Appreciative. We have a long road ahead of us and she will eventually have her knee and femur bone removed after her 10 week of Chemo treatment. After her surgery she will start Chemotherapy again and possibly Radiation. This is going to be a long recovery but until then she will do her clinic infusions, as well as continuing inpatient chemotherapy treatments rotating certain weeks that will last a couple of days . At least 4 to 5 depending on how she feels. We were told that she may not be able to play Basketball again, which that broke her heart. Micah was so excited about playing 10th grade basketball at West Charlotte once her ACL healed and wanted to play college ball. Please keep my family in your Prayers, her twin sister has been affected by this also. Thanks again
