**UPDATE**
Shortly after putting this together I was informed that the court date has now been moved to the 23rd of April.
In September of 2020, my daughter was born. The years since then have held many of the happiest moments of my life. From the start, she and I have spent four days per week together, days filled with learning, growing, and activities. Although her mother and I have not been together for several years now, we have always co-parented “amicably” if you squint past the damage to my property and continued attempts to push me out of my role as an active parent in our daughter’s life.
In the fall of 2024, we agreed to use a mediation service to draft a parenting plan. After several meetings through the winter, I was blindsided by a process server. I am now waiting on a court date, which is fast approaching, that will determine whether I can continue seeing my daughter four days per week as she has always known, or if the new schedule will be every other weekend and one 3-hour “dinner visit” per week, as her mother has asked the court to impose. Whatever the outcome, I now see the next 14 years as a continual struggle to maintain my time with and role in my daughter’s life.
Due to the currently mounting legal costs, and expected future costs, I am asking for any help you can give. It very well may make the difference when it comes to my daughter maintaining relationships with friends and family she has known her entire life to date.
