My name is Jada Ryan and I’m here trying to raise money for my father. August 30th, 2025 my father, Mark Gilbert was wrongfully arrested by Yolo County Sheriff’s Police in Woodland, California. Mark was on short road trip to Kent, Washington to visit and spend time with his grandson for his 4th birthday. I received a call at 2:02AM from my father letting me know he was being pulled over for going 10mph over the speed limit. He stated that the officer, Ruthie (i don’t know the last name) had asked him to get out of the car. While on the phone I heard the officer tell my father “ Oh you’re going to jail”. Mark then asked why and the officer said that he had a warrant. I heard my father tell the officer “that can’t be right, i don’t have any warrants, i just went t court with my son last week and they advise me I have didn’t have any warrants”. The officer stated that the warrant was put out on the 18th of August, but he had spoke with the police on the 23rd of August. Something did not seem right. From there the officer illegally arrested my father and illegally searched his car. They had his car impounded and towed. At this point i began to record theconversations i with an extra phone I had. The phone call lasted all the way up to check in at the jail, where they did a wellness exam. Shortly they noticed i was still on the phone and hung up the call. I was distraught because all my father was trying to do was get to his grandson. I received a call from him in jail at 7:56am, where he told me that the police officer had lied about the warrant (which he has the paperwork for)but now he is being charged for a metal baton he had in the car and resisting arrest, which he never did. They set his bail at $10,000 although everything the officer did was illegal. My brother and I scraped up what we had to bail him out so he could get his car and just return home without an impound fee going up daily. He left the jail with no paperwork on his car and where It was towed to. All he had was the police’s word that It was towed to a tow yard in Vacaville, Ca. So we got a Lyft there and the car was no where to be found. After hours of calling around and digging up info we learned his car was only 10mins away from the jail. We asked how much to get It out and the reply was outrageous. The tow yard said to get his car out for same day tow would be $956. $720 for the tow, $159 to open the gate on the weekend and $77 a day. This is something we just couldn’t afford. So we had someone take my father home. My father is a very earnest hard working man who has not been able to work since COVID. He takes care of his elderly mother and step father, while just trying to stay a float. I’m asking for any and all donations because we are trying to

get an lawyer to fight the injustice done here. Not only that he need his car to be able to run errands for his elderly parents.
