Hi my name is Haylee and I’m starting this go fund me to Help My Dad, Fight rare & aggressive Brain Cancer.
My dad Randy, is one of a kind. Loves his girls, his family and is a die hard music lover. Would never hesitate to help someone in need, from helping move things to giving people rides when needed. With a smile on his face, and a friend to all. He strongly believes in karma, do good deeds and hopefully one day it will come back to you. Even after his diagnosis of a brain tumour, Oligodendrogiloma grade 2 in 2015, followed by 2 brain tumour resection surgeries in 2015 & 2016 , and developing epilepsy, with daily focal seizures. While my mom was pregnant with my younger sister. he has tried to work hard with the abilities he had to help provide for his family but his options where limited, it changes you, when doctors remove parts of your brain, especially the front temporal lobe, things get effected. Like comprehension and memory. But that never stopped him from being a kind and loving person. Telling my mom daily how much he loves her and how beautiful she is to him. Hoping that’s as bad as it gets , the symptoms sucked but manageable.
Three months ago, he started developing a new symptom , double vision. After various test and MRI’s we found out the Tumour had grown back. November 2024 he had his third brain surgery, removing only 70% safely. From the surgery he became weak on the left extremities, and completely blind in the right eye . But the biggest change of all was he had developed an extremely rare , aggressive brain cancer called Oligosarcoma, high grade. There are so few cases studies, even the oncologist at the Cross Cancer Institute are fascinated but completely stumped by it . So they are throwing their most aggressive treatment at it . 6 weeks of Chemotherapy/ Radiation followed by 6months to a year of Chemotherapy to hopefully slow progression down. They gave him 2 to 3 years . He is only 51 . My mom has been by his side and will continue to be . Only problem is she works for herself. So the only source of income is from her. She is with him all week during treatment 2.5 hrs away , comes home on weekends to work as much as she can to be able to pay at least part of the bills. It’s hard when life throws you a curve ball and you’re not prepared for it . It’s stressful. I know it’s a hard time for everyone right now , and everyone has something in life they are going through. I’m just hoping to maybe make it a little easier on them, so they can focus on treatment. Thank you
