For My Birthday, I Want to Give, Not Receive
Help Me Feed 300 People in Need in San Diego
Every year on my birthday, I get to receive. I receive love, messages, gifts, and the chance to celebrate another year of life. But this year, for my 44th birthday, I want to flip that around. Instead of receiving, I want to give.
I’ve been blessed to have food on the table every single day. But I know that’s not true for everyone, especially here in San Diego where our unsheltered and homeless neighbors often go without the basics, including a simple, nourishing meal.
So this year, my birthday wish is to prepare and hand out at least 300 sack lunches to people in need. Each lunch will include:
One hearty sandwich
One piece of fresh fruit
One snack (granola or protein bar)
One bottle of water or Gatorade
This is a small gesture, but I believe it can make someone’s day a little brighter.
How You Can Help
I’m contributing $200 of my own money to get this started, and I’m hoping to raise an additional $750 to cover the remaining costs of food, drinks, and packaging.
Even the smallest contributions make a difference:
$1 to $3 helps provide a full meal for someone in need
$10 feeds multiple people
$25, $50, or more can help us go beyond the 300-lunch goal
If we raise more than we need, I’ll make more meals and keep the giving going. Every dollar will be used directly for this effort.
The Plan
I’ll shop in bulk, prepare the meals, and distribute them directly to areas in San Diego where people are most in need. I’ll also share updates and photos so you can see exactly what your contribution helped accomplish.
If you can give, thank you.
If you can share this link with others, thank you.
Thank you for helping make this birthday one of meaning, compassion, and community. With your help, we can turn a simple idea into something that puts food in hands, smiles on faces, and warmth in hearts.
Let’s feed 300 people together.
Let’s make this birthday count.
